Armor: Kai's armour is quite simple, because he doesn't like his movement being restricted. It is brown leather on one shoulder, that wraps around his back. It also has some green paint, of his favorite animal, the bird.


Sexuality: Straight


Physical description: Kai is a thin, scruffy looking clouded leopard. He has a lean body and a long tail more suited for climbing and running than attacking. He used to have a thick hair of fluff on his head, but half of that hair was torn out by a lioness. He now has scars across that side of his face, as well as scars on his chest, front leg, and back. Kai also has a few older scars, one on his face from the fire that happened months ago, and one on his front paw from stepping on burning coals when he was younger. As for accessories, he has more than a few on both of his front paws, all of which he stole from his time in the city. His last accessory is a gold band with feathers that wraps around his tail. It symbolizes his bond with his mate, Chelsea, and was made by the blacksmith of Air Empire.

Energetic: 

Kai used to be very mischievous, but the need to cause trouble has long since stopped. Instead he finds himself with all this energy he doesn't know what to do with, so he usually tries to use it for hunting, or helping other cats out. He's found out that he likes running, and has been trying to build up his stamina for that. Who knows, one day he might just have to run away from something he isn't able to face.



Fun-loving: 

Kai hates boring. To him, even the word 'boring' is boring. It seriously makes him yawn! He's not sure if his Empiremates feel the same, but likes to do fun things with them, if he can. He enjoys getting creative, and trying to find ways to make generally boring things, like hunting or patrolling, more exciting and fun. He does this by joking around, doing silly things, and generally making a fool of himself. Whatever it is, Kai really enjoys doing anything that gets him off of his feet, and doing something probably crazy.

Protective:

Kai gets very protective over the things that are close to him, and he used to get riled up over the big things that threatened them. But nowadays, he finds the smallest things bothering him, like who might be talking to his girl, or anyone suspicious looking in general, talking to one of his friends. He hasn't breached over to 'Possessive' yet, because he's just looking out for his friends' well beings. When it comes to objects, like his bracelets, he simply doesn't like anyone touching them. He gets nervous when someone so much as looks at them. They were his to begin with, (well, sorta) so keep your paws to yourself!

Compassionate: 

Kai cares deeply for his friends, and his mate Chelsea. He's willing to set aside some of his free time to make sure they're doing alright, or even just lend a shoulder to cry on. He honestly just wants to help in any way he can, but sometimes that means setting his needs to side, so he can focus on someone else. Sometimes, he neglects himself a little, yet he doesn't think there's anything wrong with that. All he wants to do is be there for his friends, so that's exactly what he is going to do.


Responsible:

Gone are the old days were Kai would recklessly go off and get in trouble. He's matured quite a bit since then, deciding to help out everyone around him rather than sneak off to find something exciting. Sure, he misses the old days where he would sneak into Ice Empire, or prank some unsuspecting cat, but he honestly likes what he's doing so much better. He was recently given the responsibility of going to search for a cure for his Empire, and that helped him grow so much. Kai is very willing to lend a helping paw (or two) to anyone who asks.


B A C K G R O U N D:

Before the Empires:

Kai grew up with disapproving coliseum parents, and eventually began to resent them. They were both unfortunately killed in the coliseum when Kai was around 7 months. He grew up as an orphan, and to survive on the streets of Massila, he taught himself how to steal.

He became quite quick and silent on his feet, able to move very quickly, to avoid being caught. He was extremely good at pick-pocketing, he relied heavily on his thievery skills-if he didn’t steal, he wouldn’t be able to eat. He was very inexperienced at hunting, because his parents had never taught him to hunt. He also occasionally stole jewelry from other cats, and sometimes even humans.

As he grew, he knew he would be wanted for his thievery. Several times he had almost been caught, even though he was extremely swift. He had heard of those ridiculous ‘Bounty Hunters’ and knew he did not want to be caught by them.

He knew he couldn’t keep living on like this, as a thief. He left Massila, and ended up hearing about the Empires, and accidently ran into an Air Empire patrol.
He decided to join the Air Empire, deciding it would be easier to live in a group than live in fear of the bounty hunters. Everyone there seemed welcoming, so he knew it was one of the best options for him. Once he joined the Empire, he vowed to himself that he was a different cat now, and tried to give up being a thief.

Welcome to Air Empire:

Kai found this whole new experience thrilling, and couldn't wait to meet other cats. He was young and adventurous, and all he really wanted to do was cause trouble. He pranked a few cats, and even sneaked into another Empire. He met one of his first friends there, Tolmi, who surprised him with a sneak attack. He quickly learned that this was not an enemy attacking him, only a resident Ice Empire feline pulling a harmless prank on him. 

Kai was impressed by her pranking skills, so he suggested that they go back to her Empire and prank a whole bunch of cats. She let him, but only after a few bad leaf jokes from him. She blindfolded him with a leaf so he wouldn't know the way there, and proceeded to call him Leaf Boy. He and her pranked many cats that night, and he couldn't wait to meet her again in the future.

Kai had briefly talked with a cat called Erie not too long after joining the Empire, but not too much came out of the conversation. He met another few cats in the camp area, but not for long enough to remember what their names were. He went on a group caravan raid once, with Ember, Ivan, Vigra, Chelsea, Dimitri, Fern, and Sikeena. Of the group, the cats he remembered most were Ember, Sikeena, and Ivan. He had a short conversation with Sikeena, because she had asked him what they were going to be doing on the raid. When he told her that they were stealing, she seemed surprised.

Kai proceeded to be reckless during the raid, and could easily tell that Ivan didn't seem to like him very much. Another cat, Ember, had wanted to make sure that he was okay, so he remembered that.

The Fire:

The young clouded leopard wasn't aware, but the Forest Fire that swept over Air Empire's camp and territory was going to change his life forever. He wasn't aware of the fire at first, because he had been visiting Tolmi in Ice Empire. That visit probably saved his life, otherwise he might have been severely hurt, or even dead. When he entered their territory again, he could immediately tell that something was wrong. The air smelled weird...and he quickly realized that something terribly bad had happened. The fire had mostly died down, and he felt extremely nervous. He couldn't find anyone...had the fire killed them all? Was everyone except for him dead? 

He did stumble upon a small cub, Iovita. But after that, he saw no one. He was starting to get that feeling that everyone might actually be gone. 

Kai had actually gotten wounded, a few sharp branches had scratched his face, and the wounds were stinging. But he didn't care about that, because he had found a small red-tailed hawk chick, and decided to save it.
 
He finally ran into another cat, a Caracal named Chelsea. He didn't remember meeting her on the caravan raid, and she didn't seem to remember him either.  But they had each other now, and a tiny bird friend to take care of. Speaking of taking care of, Chelsea was wounded, so Kai went to find some wet moss to clean her wound. They chit chatted for a little bit, and they went out together to try and find the rest of Air Empire. They eventually found most of the others, and were so relieved.

Chelsea and Kai became best friends after that, and talked to each other almost every day. Shortly after they got back to their new camp, they did some training together. Chelsea ended up tackling him to the ground, and they rolled around and giggled in the grass.

Physical abilities:


From his days of being a thief, Kai is very swift and quick on his feet. He would much rather dodge attacks than fight back, he is very light on his feet. He isn’t that good at taking hits, which is why he turns to dodging and evading attacks instead of blocking. If he does get hit, it will take him a few seconds to regain himself, or he will pass out, if the hit is strong enough.


Quirks:

He tends to laugh when he’s nervous

He completely dislikes the taste of fish

He enjoys climbing trees, and jumping from tree to tree (Though he tends to fall a lot)

He has an odd obsession with leaves. His obsessive habits with leaves even caused him to receive a nickname, from Tolmi of Ice Empire. (Leaf Boy)
